Blak Loud Showcase
Year
2025
BLAK LOUD is a live music showcase celebrating First Nations artists, music and culture. Presented by Amazon Music in collaboration with Bad Apples Music, the 2025 event took place during the National Indigenous Music Awards in Darwin, Northern Territory.
Working as a Graphic & Brand Designer at SLATE Media, I was responsible for developing campaign assets across print, digital and social media. The project required a flexible visual system that could translate across multiple formats while maintaining a strong and recognisable identity.
The creative direction used bold typography, high-contrast layouts and a rich, earthy colour palette to complement the existing BLAK LOUD identity and celebrate the artists at the centre of the event. Across every application, the focus was on balancing visual impact with clear communication, ensuring key event information remained immediately legible.

Scope of Work
A scalable visual system.
Rather than treating each deliverable as an individual piece, the campaign was approached as a flexible visual system. Consistent typography, colour, graphic elements and image treatments created a recognisable framework that could adapt across print, social media and large-format environmental applications.
This allowed artwork to change in scale, format and content while still feeling unmistakably part of the same campaign. Designing with adaptability in mind was particularly important across social media, where the visual language needed to work across multiple dimensions without losing hierarchy or impact.
Bold where it matters.
Large-scale campaign applications demanded immediate impact. High contrast, confident typography and simplified compositions were used to create a strong visual hierarchy, allowing artist names, event details and campaign messaging to remain clear and recognisable from a distance.
The layouts were designed to retain the personality of the BLAK LOUD identity without sacrificing legibility, creating artwork that could command attention in busy physical environments while still feeling connected to the wider campaign.
A cohesive campaign experience.
The final suite of assets created a consistent visual presence for BLAK LOUD across physical and digital touchpoints. From large-format promotional artwork to social media content, each application shared the same visual language while responding to the requirements of its individual format.
The result was a cohesive campaign system that supported the promotion of the 2025 showcase and gave the event a strong, recognisable presence across its audience touchpoints. Most importantly, the design provided a clear framework for showcasing the featured First Nations artists while keeping the event information accessible and visually impactful.
